Panda Celebrates Official Grand Opening of the Panda Cares Center of Hope Makerspace at Children’s Hospital Colorado

On August 8, 2022, Panda Express brought inspiration to Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO as they celebrated the grand opening of the Panda Cares Center of Hope (PCCOH). The PCCOH is a special place powered by Panda Express associates and guests to provide a safe and comforting environment for patients, giving them access to programs and services that inspire hope and promote healing by addressing a child’s entire well-being including their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
Panda Express committed $8.3 million to Children’s Hospital Colorado to give patients a space to create, inspire, and invent. PCCOH includes various makerspaces, which are areas with an array of state-of-the-art technology that targets the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematic (STEAM) development of patients as they escape from the stress of medical treatments. From learning how to design stickers to writing codes, patients and their families are given access to computers, laser cutters, 3D printers, robotics, and so much more. To ensure that everyone can enjoy the space, Panda also provided mobile makerspace carts for patients and families who cannot leave their hospital rooms.
The day was celebrated with delicious food, Panda Swag, books, and a visit from the Panda therapy dog. Local Panda Express operators participated in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, and it was truly an inspiring day for all.
