In-Store Donations Provide Safe Haven for Youth at Donald Reynolds Boys & Girls Club

ORGANIZATION: Donald Reynolds Boys & Girls Club

DATE:

Panda Express sparked hope for club members at the Donald Reynolds Boys & Girls Club in Henderson, NV as they celebrated the official grand opening of the Panda Cares Center of Hope (PCCOH) on December 9, 2022. The PCCOH is a dedicated space that provides safety and comfort for the youth, inspiring them to learn, create, and explore. Club kids are given the opportunity for personal growth and to build interpersonal bonds to develop into expressive and confident individuals.

The PCCOH space is utilized to support club kids through programs like Project Learn, a fun after-school program that assists in academic successes and advancements. Through Project Learn, the Club staff open opportunities for the kids to engage in high yield learning activities and interactions with knowledgeable adults. Project Learn also allows kids access to other resources such as tutoring, mentorship, college/career counseling, and collaboration with other Club and school professionals.

During the opening, local Panda Express Operators joined hands with Panda Co-Founders, Andrew and Dr. Peggy Cherng, to put the value of giving into action. They handed out delicious Panda meals, books, Panda Swag, and hosted activities for Club members. To continue the celebration, the youth were greeted with hugs and high-fives from our Panda Mascot. To top it off, the Panda Express team came together and purchased over 180 holiday gifts for the children at the Donald Reynolds Boys & Girls Club.

Thank you to all Panda Express associates and guests for making an impact in your community. Your generous contributions through the In-Store Donation Program will continue to create a safe and comfortable space for the youth.
