18th Annual Panda Cares Charity Golf Invitational

Panda Cares hosted our 18th Annual Charity Golf Invitational at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. on September 30th with hundreds of Panda partners generously supporting this year's beneficiaries -- The Leader in Me, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Methodist Hospital, City of Hope and Huntington Hospital. Together, $2 million was raised to benefit the health and education of underserved children.
The theme for this year's event was "On a Mission to Better Lives" and included testimonials from Mason Torres, a student from McKinley Elementary School who shared his story about The Leader in Me program, and Eileen Garrido, a former heart surgery patient at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Their stories brought to life the impact of money raised by Panda Cares to help better the lives of children in the community.
Support Center and Operation associates were on site to ensure participants had an exceptional experience. Food and drink from Panda Express, Yaki Yan, Uncle Tetsu, Panda Tea Bar and our partners from Pepsi kept participants hydrated. A silent and live auction followed golf, giving guests more opportunities to donate to the cause.
"The work that Panda Cares does is so important because we have this great gift of our success and a great responsibility to share that success," said Bryan Lim, vice president of Information Systems. "What we choose to do with this success is to better other people's lives. When you think about all the lives the work of Panda Cares has touched -- all the people, the children and their families -- the impact is almost indescribable."
